Can see @ 6-7 wk: Usually, the heartbeat can be seen by transvaginal ultrasound between 6-7 wks from beginning of lmp, but may not be able to hear it with an external hr monitor until 12 wks from lmp. This is highly dependent upon body habitus.

Sonogram?: In almost all cases you should get a heart-beat with ultrasound/doppler early in the 6th week. The 5th week, most of the time, is too early for a clear doppler.
