It can: Fever can certainly increase the heart rate, though low grade fevers would not generally have a huge impact. There are rare instances in which you can have a fever, and have the source of it be related to your heart. More often than not though, listening to your heart is just part of a thorough physical exam.

Any stress: Can cause the heart rate to increase. A fever can cause the heart rate to increase. When evaluating a patient listening to the chest is part of the exam. It is not done just to evaluate for a fever. It is part of the entire exam. See your doctor to evaluate your fever.
