Fracture risk: If she falls on her back, she is at risk of vertebral compression fracture due to underlying osteoporosis. If she does not move around or stand and walk, then her osteoporosis will get worse. Seems like she is receiving pt, which is good for her.

Different forces: Compression fractures of the spine are usually caused by sudden forces in an up-and-down direction. Jumping from a height, or falling on one's butt could cause upward force. Hitting one's head on something could cause a downward force. Pulling on the belt causes a gentle horizontal force, and provides support to reduce the risk of a fall, so would not increase fracture risk.
