What age does a kid stop going to a pediatric dentist?

Depends on practice: Ask the practice you're seeing. I've seen some adult patients in our pediatric dentist's office. The practice you're with will be able to tell you when the right time is to move on to a different practice.

I don't believe: There is any set age -- when either you or your child feels like its time to see the family dentist, then its appropriate. If the child feels comfortable with the pedodontist or has a phobia about going to the dentist, then best to stay with the pedodontist until the situation changes.

No set age: Really depends on the doctors and patients comfort level many offices continue seeing patients until they're 21 but some refer patients once they reach teens.

2 answers: 1. When your kid decides he's "outgrown" a pediatric dental office. 2. About age 18. Whichever works for you.
