Sealants are best: Pit and fissure caries are easily treatment by doing sealants on those teeth. The tiny carious lesions should be drilled or lasered away and then the sealants are applied. Done correctly this should insure these small lesions never turn into lagre carious lesions.

Cavities: Depending how extensive the decay is there are several options. One is a typical filling if the cavity is deep. For a very small cavity the dentist may use air abrasion. This looks like a little pen that emits a "sandy" type material to remove the decay in the pit or fissure. A small filling and sealant may be placed.
