Ibuprofen: In my experience Ibuprofen (advil) is the best otc in relieving tooth pain. Of course the best thing is to have the needed treatment to remove the cause of the tooth ache.

Motrin: If you are not allergic to ibuprofen, i would recommend Motrin as a good over the counter dental pain reliever. Most dental pain within teeth are due to inflammation, thus anti inflamatory pain meds like Motrin are ideal.

600 mg Ibuprofen: Over-the-counter pain relievers such as aspirin, Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen may help ease a painful tooth. I recommend 600 mg of Ibuprofen every six hours.

Multiple options: For immediate relief Ibuprofen is one of the best if you can tolerate that. However, that will not fix the source of the problem. As inexpensive as home remedies can be, home remedies will not treat the source of the problem. Please see a dentist you can trust. Online reviews are a wonderful way to seek a dentist. A dentist can determine the problem and fix it. Good luck!

No remedy: You can take otc pain meds for a short time while waiting for a dental appointment, but there is nothing you can do to resolve your need for dental treatment. I hope you have already called for an appoinment since things can only get worse, not better. Feel better soon...

See a dentist ASAP: You can take OTC NSAID or Tylenol (acetaminophen). However, the OTC painkiller may provide some relief until you can get to your dentist. Remember, toothache pain will not go away on its own and dental treatment is a must.
