Cold: Use cold compresses immediately after the extraction to reduce the swelling and pain. You can use warm compresses from the next day on.

Cold: Cold helps reduce inflammation, but it will take time. Ask your doctor about anti inflammatory medications.

Not a bad idea: Instead of cold compresses, consider using a frozen bag of peas or a frozen bag of popcorn kernels. The bags will better fit the contour of your face and it can be reused. Put a thin cloth between the bag and face so you don't have it stick to your skin.
