Depends: Te swelling in the cheek can be from an infection or just inflammation. In the case of infection, you need to be on antibiotics. If it is inflamed from excessive bleeding, a cold compress will help. If inflammation from procedure, a arm compress may stimulate blood flow and promote healing. Call your dentist.

Teeth: Do not drink thru' a straw. Bite on a gauze. Use Motrin four times a day. Have you dentist see you a few days after the surgery.

Ice it.: Place ice on the cheek for 15 min then off for 15 min, then repeat. Do this for 3-4 times daily. You can use a frozen package of peas or corn at the ice pack. You should also hold some warm salt water in that side of your mouth for a minute. Take a half a glass of warm water(hot as you can stand) dissolve tablespoon of table salt. See dentist for infection.
