Removing a ganglion : Removing a ganglion requires surgery. Usually the cyst is reasonably close to the skin surface. Their is some discomfort after surgery but recovery is usually straightforward. While you will be wearing a surgical shoe after surgery, i usually allow my patients to bear full weight after surgery.

Ganglion surgery: Is out patient soft tissue surgery. You will have stitches and a bandage. You may also have to wear a surgical shoe for a few weeks.
