A few things: Wearing shoe and socks all day long can trap moisture in the skin and nails. If your nail has been injured there can be damage to the nail plate, or an yeast or fungal infection can thrive under these conditions. Keeping the feet dry is important. Using antiperspirant sprays, absorbant foot powders, and changing socks more frequently can help. See a podiatrist about any potential nail infection.
