Yes: If it is detected and treated at an early stage, patients with liposarcoma can have a very good survival. The main determinants on whether it is has spread or directly invaded other organs, if it is "well" or "poorly differentiated", and whether it was completely removed during the operation.

Yes: Survival from liposarcoma depends on size, grade, and location of the tumor together with whether it has been completely removed with good margins. Low grade rarely metastasize, but may degenerate into higher grade. Often, the liposarcomas may return, especially if located intraabdominally. They may need to be aggressively but judiciously re-resected.
