A member asked:

What questions should i ask a pediatrician when interviewing before our baby is born?

Prenatal visit: Wouldn't you like to know how long the pediatrician has been in practice? Experience is important. Other things to ask: office hours; availability for night and weekend calls when you need advice for your child's illness; views/beliefs on breastfeeding vs bottle, split immunizations, pacifier use, circumcision, use of antibiotics, separate well/sick waiting rooms, ease of getting appointments, etc.

See below: Common questions are office hours, availability for sick visits , o find a phone advice, who will see your baby in the hospital, etc. You should also be able to get a sense of your comfort level during the interview. Most physicians provide good care. You need to find a pediatrician who fits your personality and expectations.
