Meniscus Repair: I am going to answer the question on how a meniscus is repaired. In only about 10% of meniscal injuries can we actually repair the meniscus. In order to repair the meniscus it has to be in a zone where there is a blood supply. For those meniscus i can repair we use suture that we pass into the knee and it is cinched down to hold the repair while it heals, about 6 weeks.

See specialist.: See an orthopedic knee specialist, who can determine if a repair is possible, or if the torn portion should be removed.
