Experienced surgeon: I would recommend seeing a corneal surgeon who is experienced in pterygium surgery. With proper surgery, your risk of recurrence is about 2%.

By more surgery: Pterygia grow on the eye, usually on the nasal side. They can be removed, but often come back. Sometimes it helps to replace the removed tissue with an amniotic graft or with limbal conjuctiva.
