VIN: Vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (vin) is dysplasia of the vulva. The grades, assigned by the pathologist when microscopically examining vulvar biopsy specimens, are vin 1 (mild squamous dysplasia), vin 2 (moderate squamous dysplasia), and vin 3 (severe squamous dysplasia). Vin 2 and 3 have the highest risk of progression to invasive squamous cell carcinoma if left untreated.
