A member asked:

32 old female, w/anxiety & panic attacks. any suggestions on how to stop believing my panic attacks are cardiac events? hate living in constant fear.

Step 1 & step 2: Step 1--see a cardiologist to confirm absence of cardiac issues. If none are found--step 2. See a psychiatrist why you are so phobic or fixated on your emotional state.

See below: Would describe this to your treating psychiatrist and primary care doc. The worry that one might have a panic attack is a common feature of panic disorder. See if the following fits your symptoms. Adjusting your treatment might help. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0001922/.
