Hello dr, greetings! my mother is aged 56. she is a type 2 diabetic and her fasting used to be 300 and post fasting was 375. she was on insulin, piogl?

Way too high.: Not sure of entire question, but goals are fasting blood glucose approx. 110 level and hemoglobin a1c < 7.0 without producing hypoglycemia. Dose of Insulin - preferably long acting- should be raised every few days until goals met. If not on metformin, consider it. Consider stopping pioglitazone. Blood pressure target is 130/80. Ldl target is less than 100 mg/dl.
