Pathology analysis: After an organ is removed through surgery it is usually sent to the patholigst to analyze it. They will look for tissue problems, diseases and signs of cancer. After that the tissue is safely disposed of.

Sent to Pathology: All organs or tissue removed during a hysterectomy or any surgery for that matter are sent to the pathology department. There, a pathologist will dissect the specimen(s) and evaluate the tissue for disease, cancer, etc. Once finished, a report with the findings is generated by the pathologist and the specimen is eventually discarded.
