White stuff in newborns ears?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vernix: This is the creamy film that babies have all over their bodies during fetal life. It's protective - made of skin oil and sloughed off skin cells. This looks like a thick, white, cheesy substance and is completely normal. Carefully take a wet (not soaking), warm washcloth to wipe it off.
