Achilles tendonitis: Try rest, ice compression, elevation. Take Aleve (naproxen) for pain and put a small lift in the heel of your shoe. If persists see a podiatrist.

Achilles tendonitis: You don't have to be an athlete to get it. I would try gentle stretching, wear heel lifts, and an antiinflammatory if no contraindications. Night splints are often helpful. If no mprovement see a podiatrist for further evaluation.
