What are possible causes for transient sharp stabbing groin pain in a female with no history of dvt or this type of pain.?

Groin pain: Intermittent sharp stabbing pain in the groin could be related to irritable bowel syndrome, inguinal hernias, ovarian cysts, ovarian torsion, or kidney stones. See your physician for further workup.

Pulled Muscle: I agree with dr. Wolf's comprehensive list of possible causes of groin pain. Although less likely, i would also include a pulled groin muscle as a possibility. These tend to occur following rigorous exercise +/- lifting and respond well to rest, ice, and anti-inflammatories.
