If you have ovarian cancer is it possible to freeze your eggs before your oophorectomy?

Yes but a risk: If that is a concern then this is something you must speak to your doctor about immediately, before the initiation of therapy. You have two ovaries but it depends on the stage of your tumor. Very few ovarian cancers are found at an early stage and delaying treatment in an advanced tumor could be disasterous.

Yes: Conceivably it is possible, assuming the other ovary is normal and has no cancer in it. However, i think most physicians who harvest eggs, are probably uncomfortable treating a patient with cancer in the ovary, and thus may be reluctant to perform the harvest. You should discuss this with your oncologist who should guide you to the right decision.
