Not advised: Please do not stop your antidepressant without checking with the prescribing physician. Many conditions that nortriptyline (pamelor) are used to treat tend to recur, especially if the medication is stopped too quickly. Abrupt discontuation of nortriptyline can result in nausea, headache and insomnia and uncommonly even delirium/psychosis. The taper would depend on dose and duration of treatment.
