Is staph and eczema related?

Not related: But you can get staph infection if your eczema is poorly controlled from your constant scratching causing a break in your skin, weepy lesions, pus build up and then staph invasion. Eczema is chronic dry skin , staph is a bacterial skin infection.

Staph can infect it: Eczema is a skin condition marked by thickening scaly areas that is often marked by inflammation & a breakdown in the skin barrier.Staph germs can get under the scales & into the oozing areas and cause secondary infection. Staph does not cause eczema but can aggravate the condition.
