SLE + Blood donor: To begin with, a person with lupus should always discuss the issue of donating blood with their doctor. You should not donate blood if you are too anemic. According to the american red cross, while a diagnosis of lupus was at one time a disqualifier for the donation of blood, this is not longer the case http://www.Lupus.Org/webmodules/webarticlesnet/templates/new_empty.Aspx?Articleid=604&zoneid=76.
