Very: Extremely useful and most potent anti inflammatory known, Prednisone can save your joints from permanent damage due to ra. Seems the benefits outweigh the risks as far as your doctor is concerned. Extra care needs to be taken in diabetics, patients with immune problems and also infections. Discuss your concerns with your physician. You'll be surprised how much better things go if you are reassured.

It depends: The risk for Prednisone toxicities increases with the dose and the length of time it is taken. If you remain of it for a length of time you will likely experience some degree of side-effects. Why was it prescribed? In many instances Prednisone may be the only or most effective therapy.
