Treat bipolar: Mood stabilizing medications are most commonly prescribed for the treatment of bipolar. These include lithium, some anticonvulsants such as depakote, trileptal, and tegretol. Atypical antipsychotics have also been shown to be effective with bipolar, such as seroquel (quetiapine) and risperdal, to name a few. Sometimes, antidepressants are prescribed with a mood stabilizer.
