It's every person's: Right to keep personal medical information confidential. When he or she is ready to share or ask for support, he/she will let you know. You have the right to act only on behaviors that constititute a harm to self or others.

Agree with Dr Fricke: Not only is medical information especially mental health very confidential it is not good to make assumptions about someone else. Family and friends can be supportive and suggest treatment if they have concerns, but respect a person's right to privacy, . If you are concerned about danger to self or others call 911.
