Phobia V Panic: A phobic response occurs when you are specifically exposed to a stimulus that causes you to experience anxiety. A a panic attack occurs out of the blue in a situation where you would not expect to be uncomfortable. If you feel that your phobia is random, perhaps you are referring to panic attacks? Treatment for both respond well to cbt and pharmacotherapy when needed.
