How do i choose a sandal or shoe for ankle instability and/or arthritis?

Supportative: Sandels won't. Shoes need to provide support, restore normal anatomy and relieve pain. A podiatrist may be quite helpful.

Couple of things: Sandles are not good because they do not give support to the foot and ankle. You need a sturdy shoe that gives good suport to the arch to help stabilize the foot. A high top above the ankle shoe would really be best.
