A member asked:

Could echos sometimes detect artery malfunctions or blocked arteries?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: By echo I am assuming you are talking about an ultrasound. If that is true, the ultrasound machine is more than capable of detecting occluded vessels (arteries or veins) by an experienced ultrasound technician. The ultrasound is a very valuable tool used by vascular surgeons to help diagnosis disease processes.
