Nerve based pain: Neurontin (gabapentin) also known as Gabapentin works on the nerve to slow down abnormal signals. It is effective for fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, shingles pain and leg or arm pain from disc herniations.

Gabapentin purpose: Gabapentin is especially good at reducing symptoms of tingling or burning when nerves are irritated or damaged. It is not helpful for healing the nerves. Hope that helps!
