Must b another cause: Choking sensation in the throat can be due to something other than an abnormality in the thyroid. Because the anatomy in that area includes the vocal cords, the trachea, esophagus, epiglottis; abnormalities in any of these other areas may cause a choking sensation. See doc. Common cause is swelling of the larynx or vocal cord from acid reflux which is treated with a trial of an acid reducer med.

Other causes: Small nodules unlikely to cause choking, look for other causes related or unrelated to thyroid.
