Laparoscopic: Laparoscopic gallbladder surgery is universally performed unless there are problems of internal scar tissue from multiple past abdominal surgeries or if there is very severe gallbladder disease. Single port surgery may be difficult. Open surgery is generally only performed for cases where laparoscopic cannot be done.
