Probably: Nitrofurantoin use may be contraindicated in pregnant patients in whom labor is imminent. Nitrofurantoin is commonly used to treat urinary tract infections in pregnancy. Animal studies have not demonstrated a problem with fetal exposure to this antibiotic. The fda lists this drug as probably safe for pregnant women.
