SOB DDx: The differential diagnosis (ddx) for dyspnea or shortness of breath (sob) is broad and cannot be answered with the information given. A few possibilities include lung disease - asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd)/emphysema, fibrosis, etc or cardiac disease - heart failure, obstructive myopathy. Need history, physical exam and possibly pfts (pulmonary function tests).

Yes: Why are you obsessed with cancer at your age? (21 yrs) do you have a strong family history of early cancers? Normal lung function, chest x-ray and blood tests do not exclude even lung cancer, let alone cancers of other organs. Breathlessness is not an early sign of any cancer, including lung cancer. Please consult your doctor about your concern about cancer.
