A member asked:

Hi i had a chest x-ray which came back clear. i then had a ctpa scan done which also came back clear for lung masses, nodules and a list of other things. is this enough to rule out lung cancer. im extremely worried. thank you ?

A negative "CTpa" is a good sign, but does not "rule out" lung cancer completely. Follow-andup with the physician who ordered the study for guidance about further testing.

A CT scan x-ray of the chest screening rules out lung cancer vast majority the time. If the findings are suspicious or a nodule further evaluation is needed. Consult the physician who ordered the test.
