A member asked:

I have a burning sensation at the back of my skull. it started back in 24 dec'08 and still happens esp when m very tensed or anticipating danger.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Occipital neuritis: The back of your head is innervated and controlled by the occipital nerves as pictured here. Possibly you have some inflammation of the occipital nerves causing your burning symptoms. Pain in general is aggrevated by stress, but especially neuropathic pain (pain from nerves). It has been nearly 4 yrs now, it is time to consult doc to find out what is causing your trouble. Good luck.
