My son is three and has strepp throat . i'm 8 weeks pregnant is this harmful to the unborn baby?

No: It should not be. Use same precautions as with any other infections.Report to your OB if exposed to fifth's disease!

No: Even if you get a strep throat it is unlikely to hurt the unborn.Any illness that mom experiences during pregnancy that has a "blood" phase (germs circulating in the blood) can pass that to baby. Since strep is a localized infection it would not.Practice good hand washing & avoid kisses for the first day or so until your kid has been on meds, then transmission is unlikely.
