It depends; : It depends for what we are looking for, and best allow your doctor to help you with this decision. Based on the question, brain lesion or damage if in soft tissue, usually MRI is the study of choice. If looking for bone destruction ct may be prefered. Contrast will help show the blood supply to the organ and as the name suggests, adds contrast to see things better usually. Hope this helps.
