A member asked:

My baby has mild jaundice is that a bad thing she is 2 weeks old?

Not necessarily: By 2 weeks some babies will still be a bit jaundiced, particularly if breast fed. By 3 weeks i expect it to be clear, or i want to evaluate why it hasn't.

Probably not..: ....So long as she's feeding well, voiding frequently, stooling regularly, alert and gaining weight. Mild jaundice in breast fed babies can continue for weeks. If, however, she is not feeding well, voiding frequently, stooling regularly, alert and gaining weight, then she needs to see her doctor asap.

Not to worry: It should be resolved by now unless you have a premie or breast feeding. As long as baby is taking good amount of formula or breast milk , voiding and stooling, active alert , playful, jaundice should resolve in due time . If concern , see your pediatrician.
