A member asked:

Is there any way to prevent dreams at night?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To sleep perhaps....: To dream is a normal and physiologically necessary experience. You cannot survive without rem sleep which is the stage of sleep in which "normal" dreaming occurs. The experience of dreaming however can be a different matter. Your question would imply a desire to avoid a certain experience such as a nightmare? If you are having recurrent disturbing sleep experiences your pcp would be a good start.
