Immobilization: Resting a joint is the first thing to do alliviate pain in the joint; using a cock up type wrist splint would probably help you.

RICE wrist: rest, ice elevation, immobilization , for starters. If the pain is acute and recent. If it i s chronic then an evaluation may be needed. The cause of the issue is important too, is it sudden pain after an injury or slow insidious onset of symptoms. If you are not getting better quickly seek medical care.
