See details: It really depends of the specific area of the hand that is involved and the previous therapies that have been used to try to treat it. Has an MRI been done? Have you seen a hand therapist?

Tendonitis: First this is very nonspecific. The hand and wrist has multiple joints, ligaments and tendons. All of which can be the source of your tendinitis. Not the mention that you can acquire masses such as ganglion cysts. Tendinitis rarely last greater than 6 weeks with rest and nsaids. If lasting longer you have to wonder if treatment adequate, or if diagnosis is correct. Recommend you have reevaluated.
