Is there any literature on the long term benefits of wearing orthotics for flat feet?

Some benefit: They can offer short term symptomatic relief, but make no difference long term in outcomes.

Orthotics help: Flat feet cause a muscular imbalance that cause some muscles to work harder than they are designed to. An orthotic provides mechanical control to provide efficiency and stability to the foot, allowing overused muscles to relax. Custom orthotics are best in achieving this and can be evaluated for by any podiatrist.

Orthotics: Orthotics truly offer long term relief and can prevent or at least lessen biomechanical deformities with daily use. See your podiatrist for help
