No pain: You should not have any pain during or after cataract surgery. Some irritation or scratchiness can be normal though.

Not really: The surgery usually is not painful during or after surgery. Majority of the time there is no pain unless the eye pressure gone up after surgery which is temporary elevation, corneal scratch, irritation on the incision site or dry eyes.

Minimal: You should only have minimal discomfort the day of surgery. Scratchy and blurry. There should be no real pain. If there is see the surgeon.
