Everybody: Everybody gets cataracts, just like wrinkles on your skin. Just like wrinkles, some people get it earlier than others. There's also a wide spectrum. You can have early cataracts and see perfectly for many many years. Every doctor is different as to "when" to call it a cataract. And even if you do, treating cataracts is much easier than treating wrinkles (IMHO). So relax, be happy...

Second opinion: Almost all of us will get cataracts if we live long enough. Some can get them earlier than others and the only proven risk factor for age related cataracts is sunlight exposure. Since you seem on the young side, get a second opinion with an ophthalmologist. And some opacities listed as cataract may be lens opacities that are stable and not need treatment.
