Differnet things: There are several things that can cause this area to swell. Some are more serious than others. If your kidney is still working well based on lab tests then you should be evaluated for a hernia at the transplant sight. Kidney that are undergoing rejection can swell. Also other wound problems like old blood, fluid or leaking urine can build up and cause swelling.
