TMJ: Do you have any TMJ symptoms? Check with your dentist. A night guard will prevent damage to your teeth if you are grinding. Most people grind because of stress so do your best to control your stress(exercise, meditate or?).

Wear on the teeth: If you are grinding there should be a grinding sound during your sleep, perhaps someone has noticed that. If you have a smart phone there is an app that records snoring and perhaps you can use it for grinding. There should also be wear on your teeth. Stopping it may involve bio feedback, reducing stress, treating sleep apnea, botox, muscle relaxants, or a mouth guard for grinding.

A few symptoms: You would see wear on your teeth. You may wake up with stiff, sore jaws and headaches. You may have TMJ symptoms like jaw clicking, painful chewing, limitation of oral opening. If this is you, see a TMJ expert.
