Can chewing trident gum really help fight cavities?

Gum Chewing?: Absolutely! gum chewing promotes extra saliva flow and that carries immune components to the teeth and gums. In addition, sugarless, or preferably xylitol containing gum actually decreases the cavity process. Too much gum can be hard on your jaw joints (TMJ) or jaw muscles so don't over do it.

Yes: Chewing a sugarless gum increases the flow of saliva in your mouth which then helps to buffer the acids in your mouth.
